Today we started fund-raising for JD and are off to a spectacular start, almost hitting $500 of our $13,000 goal for 4 Paws! With each new donation it was hard not to get choked up. Deeds is truly loved and we feel blessed to know so many spectacular people who are willing to help out in so many different ways.
If anyone is interested, we are having a “Team Deeds” meeting tomorrow evening at 6pm to plan future fund-raising ideas and organization. I realized I can’t do it all on my own and I welcome any help. If you are interested in attending to help out just e-mail me at dog4deeds@gmail.com and I will get you the specifics.
This evening we went to a surprise birthday party for my uncle. JD was quite funny while we were there. He was constantly intrigued by his own reflection in the mirror and got to spend time with his favorite people. His cousin T is one of his all time favorite people in the world. He can get JD to calm down faster than almost anyone. We had a great night. My favorite part of the evening was after everyone finished singing happy birthday. JD made a connection I didn’t expect. Probably because we just had his sister’s birthday.
JD: “He gets to blow candles!”
Mommy: “Yes, do you want to blow out a candle?”
JD: Puckers and blows into the air. There is a pause and then a lot of hand flapping as he squeals with delight “I get cake!”
Granted he did not actually want any desert when it was time, but it was still a beautifully funny moment.
